Nadia's love for pottery emerged during her teenage years whilst living in Cornwall in the 1960's and being surrounded by the new awakening in ceramics, influenced by Bernard Leach from his St Ives Pottery.
It was not, however, until after the birth of her first daughter that Nadia first got her hands into clay. ... and that was the beginning of the love affair which has consumed her and developed over the last 20 years.
Nadia has recently completed a design and ceramics degree. The experience of concentrating on ceramics for the duration of her 3-year degree course has been a delight to her. The discipline of designing and developing her ideas on paper first, has been invaluable. She feels the course has been the touch paper that has launched her career into the world of ceramics. Whilst still a student her work has been exhibited in a number or exhibitions and she has excelled in design competitions.
Foremost in Nadia's creative mind is the aim of striving to achieve beauty and elegance alongside functionality. Always aiming to produce the 'slightly unusual' and 'not seen before' designs.
Nadia now lives in Wales with her husband, Ian.
